Sounds familiar?
You started strong. Then life happened.
You have a novel that matters to you. A story you've been carrying around, maybe for years. You've started it. You've made real progress. And then, somewhere in the middle of it all, you got stuck.
Not because you're not a writer. Not because the story isn't good enough. But because writing a novel is long, hard, lonely work, and without the right support, even the most committed writers find their manuscripts quietly sliding to the bottom of the to-do list.
- You open the file, stare at it, and close it again without writing a word
- You've revised the first three chapters so many times you could recite them, but chapter twelve still doesn't exist
- You keep waiting for a long stretch of time when you can really focus, and that stretch never comes
- You know what needs to happen in your story you just can't seem to make yourself write it
- You've quietly started to wonder if you'll ever actually finish this
If any of that feels true, you're not broken. You're just missing a structure that keeps you moving.
That's exactly what this program is.
HOW IT WORKS
Three emails a week.
Twelve weeks to a finished draft.
The whole program runs by email — no live calls to attend, no Zoom sessions to schedule around, no group dynamics to navigate. Just you, your manuscript, and steady guidance arriving in your inbox three times a week.
- Monday - Teaching Email
Each week opens with a short editorial insight on the craft of completion — the real reasons manuscripts stall, and what to do about them. Something to carry into the week. - Wednesday - Action Prompt
A specific, timed writing task designed for your exact stage of the draft. No vague advice. A concrete thing to do, with a time limit and a clear outcome. Paired with your workbook. - Friday - Check-In & Feedback
You reply with where you landed. A few sentences — what you did, what stopped you, what surprised you. I write back with personal feedback every time.
I've spent years working with fiction writers as an editor, and the single most common thing I see is this: talented writers with genuinely good stories who simply cannot finish their manuscripts.
It's not a talent problem. The writers I work with can write. What they're missing is a reliable structure that keeps them moving forward through the long, uncertain middle of a draft — through the scenes they've been avoiding, the structural wobbles, the midpoint slump, the moments when the inner critic gets very loud.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Everything you want to know.
- What stage does my manuscript need to be at?
A: You should have a meaningful amount already written, at least a few chapters, and a clear sense of what your novel is about. This program is designed to help you reach the end of a first draft, not to develop an idea from scratch. - How much time will I need each week?
A: The program is designed for real life. Plan for 3–5 hours of writing time per week, plus around 30 minutes to read your emails and complete the workbook exercises. The writing tasks have suggested time limits, so you always know what you're signing up for. - What if I fall behind?
A: The emails arrive on a fixed schedule, but your writing doesn't have to match it perfectly. Tell me on your Friday check-in if you're behind, that's exactly what the feedback is for. We'll figure out what's getting in the way and address it directly. - Does it matter what genre I write?
A: No. The program works for literary fiction, commercial fiction, genre fiction, and everything in between. The craft of completing habits, the mindset, and structural thinking apply across the board. - What is the Manuscript Completion Workbook?
A: It's a companion document you'll receive when you enrol: a full workbook with exercises, fill-in templates, and reference guides that pair with each week's Wednesday action prompt. You'll use it alongside your emails throughout the 12 weeks. - What if I finish my draft before the 12 weeks are up?
A: Wonderful. You'll still receive the remaining emails, which will shift focus toward revision planning and next steps. And you'll have the satisfaction of knowing you finished ahead of schedule. - How many writers are in each cohort?
A: Places are capped to ensure that every Friday check-in receives a genuine, personal response. Enrollment closes when the cohort is full.
